  • Face Cream Guide: Make Up Basics
    August 6, 2010 | Category: Beauty |

Makeup is essential if you want to look presentable. Most of the time, applying makeup is not only for females but also for males. If you want to attract attention, be thought of as well-groomed and become more confident, you must apply makeup in the most tasteful manner possible. Looking good is an instinct. Do you often straighten your clothing and fix your hair with your hand when you are about to meet someone? That is why applying makeup the right way is important and relevant to you regardless of age, marital status and even gender.

So how to go about applying makeup? There are several steps involved, but they are so simple you will get the hang of it in less time than you think. What you must remember is that a light makeup does well for informal occasions, and heavy makeup should only be reserved for very important public or social occasions.

First of all, get a foundation that suits your natural skin color. Apply this evenly to your face and neck to create a smooth surface on which other products are then applied. If you have blemishes that the foundation cannot hide, use a concealer. It is probably easier to smudge the concealer together with the foundation on problematic areas like under your eyes and other marks. Loose powder, even the ones that are used for baby needs, can help you attain that smooth look.

Blush on is for you to look peachy. One thing I noticed is that there is no cut and dried rule to placing blush on. Some like to smooth the blush under the cheek bones, some would rather apply over the cheekbone, and there are those that only apply blush on sparingly on the center of the cheek. So which technique should you choose? Find your own blush on application technique by smiling or grinning in front of the mirror when you apply the blush. This is how you will know where you can apply the blush on, on the apple of your cheek.

A bronzer is great if you are going to a party or going up to a stage. When the light hits your face, it will seem like you are glowing if you are wearing a bronzer. A lip liner will allows the lipstick to stay on longer, or at least give the illusion that you are still wearing lipstick even when it has been completely smudged off. When choosing a lipstick color, choose one that will make your lips stand out. Your lipstick can be matte, satin or glossy, but choose one type that will complement the color of your eye shadow.
